In today's world, safety, security, and peace of mind are at the forefront of most people's thoughts. At Strommer's Mali's, our goal is to offer a solution to those concerns by ownership of the Belgian Malinois. However, this is not a breed for everyone. A high energy, intelligent, and focused breed, the Belgian Malinois requires a high level of attention and care. In return, the Belgian Malinois gives dedication, protection, love, and companionship. It is simply something we want to share.
We are not a long standing breeder. Quite contrary, we are new in the arena, and plan to carefully plan our breeding and distribution to select litters provided to qualified and experienced dog owners. The Belgian Malinois receives a lot of good press from Law Enforcement and Military uses. Our son was Army military police, and first introduced us to the breed in 1999. While pondering security for our home and family, we secured our current pair from a kennel specific to breeding and training the Malinois for Law Enforcement and Personal Security. This included obedience, guard, security, and scent training. We know the breed well, and understand that it is not for everyone. The Belgian Malinois demands attention, needs a "job" for mental stimulation, and is not the "stay at home" or "backyard barbeque" kind of dog. They are immensely loyal, bonding, demanding, and intuitive. They require training, stimulation, and patience. But, they return far more than the take. As a retiree with a home business, "Roscoe" never leaves my side.
Our dogs cannot be placed in any home that is not fully vetted. As a high energy and demanding breed, the Belgian Malinois is not a dog for first time dog owners. They are instinctively protective and intuitive to strange or unnatural environments. However, they take training as a 'job", and enjoy the structure of behavior that comes with proper training techniques. They respond very well to being trained, but respond negatively to harsh training tactics. They work to please. While the males tend to be more personally bonded, the females tend to be more territorial. This is simply generalizing. Both genders can take equally protective roles.. They will never fail to alert when their surroundings are threatened or invaded. Belgian Malinois owners understand that the instincts are what make the breed, and that attempting to train out instincts is neither desirable or effective. Prospective owners will need to be aware and willing to accept the characteristics that these amazing dogs possess.
All of our dogs will be delivered with AKC registration papers (open), current on vaccination, have received their veterinarian wellness checks, and will be micro-chipped for identification.
